Your job/profession/area of study?: I'm going to be a high school senior. I'm trying to decide whether I want to major in neuroscience or political science, concentrating on middle eastern studies. I wanted to be an artist for quite a long time but I lost interest awhile ago. I'm picking it up again because life can be quite boring. When I'm older, I want to be either a pathologist (anatomical...yes, a courier!!) or a neuroscientist. Hoping to get into the University of Florida (NYU is just too expensive!! ;_;)

This picture of River Phoenix always had an impact on me. And as an indivudual, he has as well. His message to the world was always of peace; to respect every being on earth, to treat it with kindness - even animals. He was a strict vegan; I've been a vegetarian for seven years of my life. He helps me keep his message in my mind everyday...even if he did pass away. He was such a wonderful human being.

How did you find out about what’s happening in Iran?: From ONTD_P. I saw the first few livethreads go up, and I was curious as to what had people so consumed. That peaked my interest. Then when people I followed on Twitter started making their avatars green, and people started posting icons on LJ, I knew it was something I should know more about.
Share a story/picspam/picture/what-have-you that's had an impact on you: I think I'm most moved by watching so many people around the world come together on this. I am absolutely amazed by the innovative use of new media and the impact people are having on these resources, and that those resources are having on current events. Although I do think it was extreme hyperbole, to hear Gordon Brown say that because of Twitter we'll never have another terrible genocide is so incredible. And to see that protesters were able to convince Twitter to delay their scheduled maintenance so that they could keep tweeting is so crazy. Our world is getting smaller and smaller by the second, and I'm just so in awe of that. And of course, watching people from my peer group stand up for their rights and start a revolution has been absolutely incredible.
